feb/mar 2025: crashed my car + stressed lasik surgeon out, wagon wellness
I was able to look at Target, the mall, and the ocean from my bed!!!

This is a lesson to me to write my blog entries on time. I think that the tone and format of this post will be good, but the content ended up being a little different and more condensed for time purposes. Maybe we'll end up with more later, but for now...

February

  • I crashed my car coming back from the Cherry Blossom festival in Waimea.
    • I hydroplaned and had to sort of purposefully crash into the side wall to lose momentum before I potentially went off into the bridge wall, down into a gulch. Big success, I stopped about 5 feet away from the start of the bridge and thankfully, there were no cars incoming so no one else was involved.
      • I'd like to thank God for clearly looking out for me.
    • I'm okay! My car is okay, had to replace the hubcaps and mirrors but everything is still running just fine for now. Not a single hair on my head was harmed and when the guy behind me asked if I was okay I said "yeah!" and hit him with the thumbs up because he didn't believe me. 🙂
  • I went for my LASIK procedure, I had an anxiety attack on the Valium they gave me, they had to switch the speculum for my eye multiple times and they couldn't get the machine to suction on my eye because my browbone was in the way.
    • I'm not mad at them but it would have been nice to get a better chance at figuring out whether or not my googly eyes are from vision deficiences or something else. Oh well.
  • Tried mouth taping and nose strips. I still snored.

March (Part 1)

  • Back on lithium. Thank god. One week without it was too much.
  • Switched to hangers that have a portion with clips on the bottom, so you can create whole outfits. Very helpful.
  • Related to eternal sunshine too much.
    • If it happens again I need y'all to put me down, please.

"[...] so me, I am the bad guy cause I'd already grieved you and you started to realize/I do need you. I did. I wish I could un-need you. So I did."

Fool that I am once more, to write a post about March before it was close to over. Saying that it feels like a lifetime sounds corny to me, but taking the time to embrace big changes and integrate them into yourself sort of is the lifetime itself, right? Here's some of what else I've been up to:

March (Part 2)

  • Most excitingly, I purchased a wagon stroller and now I'm able to comfortably go for walks with all of my stuff!
    • The sample of the general public who will randomly approach women with strollers-- although I do look pregnant or freshly postpartum, I hear (PMS bloat?)-- are really excited for me to have children and at least one person who stopped me while I was out hopes that it will be soon. I don't know about that just yet.
      • "You had a boy? Stanley?" (She is 80 years old and very sweet.)
    • It is genuinely extremely helpful for quality of life and accessibility reasons. I will get into the 170+ bpm range on occasion when exercising, and I usually fall in 140-150 when I'm just walking normally. Now I'm able to lean into the wagon when I feel faint, and I have my water, juice/tea, and a mat + comfy cushion readily accessible at any time. And I carry a couple of books, a blanket, and snacks too. Instant picnic.
  • Went to the 1st annual Hot Dog Eating Competition at the night market. My former coworker participated and did pretty well!
    • Very excited that they used Frank's Foods natural hot dogs and Punalu'u sweetbread buns. Both are locally owned and made on island... but my biggest sympathies to the contestants, because the Frank's Foods hot dogs are quite standard but the Punalu'u buns are huge and very filling. Quite a formidable combination, especially since each of the twenty contestants were meant to take on 30 each. 600 hot dogs.
  • I had some pretty good food this month, notably Bubs, which are not made with gelatin. Soooo good to have a gummy candy to eat again!!

The start of the month was honestly very rough but fuck it, we ball. Thanks for tuning in, and until next month!!!
